Italian stallion / Luna Rossa / America's Cup

Luna Rossa spent today practicing its foiling on San Francisco Bay. The striking reflective livery is easily identified on the water, and the AC72’s performance still thrills helmsman Chris Draper.

“Eight months ago the AC45 was the biggest boat I’d ever sailed,” says the 35-year-old Draper. “The big change to the AC72 has been using the wheel; I’d never used one before. We started foiling on the SR33s early last year and quickly became aware that flat was fast. That is the way the boat feels most at control.”
