A great performance by Gaeten Sene (Starboard), saw him finish in 2nd, with Eric Terrien (Bic SUP) and Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) battling for 3rd and 4th, Eric getting the better of the exchange to take 3rd and Zane in 4th. In 5th place, Casper Steinfath (Naish), the Viking from Denmark put on a valiant effort, but a stumble before the last mark cost him vital positioning, but still keeps him in the Top 5 going into Day 2: the World Series Sprints.
