SurfSpotting app helps you plan your next surf trip.

Entrepreneur and local surfer, Andrew Scales, has had a long time dream and vision that inspired him to launch SurfSpotting. The aim was to provide surfers with an app that focuses on surf spots and finding them based on the users personal observations. As Andrew, a local surfer for over 25 years explains, “I get frustrated with the inconsistency of surf reports. Most of them aren’t ‘real-time’ enough for surfers. Nothing beats sticking your head outside and checking conditions for yourself”.

SurfSpotting aims to provide the ultimate atlas for surfers. In order to do this, it now offers detailed information on over 2,000 surf spots worldwide. More spots will be added in the upcoming months to make this the most comprehensive surf atlas.

Obtaining all the data has taken a lot of time, determination and research. Each spot has been carefully positioned to ensure its accuracy and comes with its own detailed description including best wind and swell direction, wave direction and the surface below, hazards, tides plus more. Thanks to Andrew and his tech team, this data is now presented in a clear and user-friendly way.

The team is constantly developing and improving the app. Our goal is to create a complete surfing atlas for the travelling surfer or beach lover and those in search of the perfect wave.

The development of SurfSpotting has given me an amazing amount of pleasure. To do something that I love and am very passionate about on a daily basis is really the best type of job to have. I would encourage everyone to follow their dreams as it makes working even more fun.
