NTerrien, Merret Win Nautic SUP Crossing in Paris

More than 200 competitors braved nearly freezing temperatures this weekend to compete in one of the largest European races, Nautic SUP Crossing, held in conjunction with the international boat show, Salon Nautique de Paris. Paddlers vying for the overall win competed in two events on Saturday: a distance race on the River Seine and indoor sprint races at the boat show.

The distance race took competitors on a scenic tour of Paris as they paddled 12km down the Seine, passing the Eiffel Tower and other famous Parisian sites. Following the distance race, paddlers competing for the overall victory went on to the boat show where they raced before a crowd of spectators in exciting two-man heats.
After combining points from the distance and sprint races, Eric Terrien and windsurfing Olympian Faustine Merret, both of France, came out on top as overall winners.
