Orange Bowl Paddleboard Championship, Miami, FL. January 13, 2013

The largest Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) event on the East Coast will take place in Miami on January 13th, 2013. An official World Paddle Association event, the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship powered by Jimmy Lewis will include competitive and amateur paddleboarders, including more than 100 Big Brothers and Big Sisters with their "Littles."

Navigating a course that will start in Biscayne Bay and run up the Miami River against the backdrop of downtown Miami’s skyline, participants will compete for the largest purse prize on the East Coast while supporting a good cause – positive adult mentor relationships for at-risk children. All proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami.

Prior to race day, media are invited to experience a paddleboard lesson from Paddleboard Miami founder and Survivor: Nicaragua contestant Brenda Lowe and the East Coast’s most winning paddler and Florida resident Packet Casey.
