After 9 weeks of waiting, the Queen is finally calling us
February 27, 2013 – Santa Barbara, CA – The 2013 Rincon Classic is on for this coming weekend Saturday and Sunday March 2 & 3 at the Queen of the coast, Rincon Point. As luck would have it the California State Parks granted a two week extension to the eight week waiting period and everything is coming together on the ninth weekend. It has been an interesting winter with a couple of good Sundays, but with extremely small Saturdays which prompted the postponements. With two weeks left in the waiting period, 85 degree weather, and average to good waves and conditions in the forecast, we are all systems go.
The 2013 event is dedicated to Daisy Love Merrick who passed away on Saturday February 16 after a four year battle with cancer. Daisy was such an inspiration in her faith and positive outlook on life and will live on in our hearts forever. Our community honors and celebrates her life and sends prayers and love out to the Merrick family.
