America's Cup, Oracle Team USA - Fun on Foils

ORACLE TEAM USA has released a new video, Fun on Foils, which demonstrates the power and grace of the AC72 catamaran.

Trimmer Joe Newton explains what it’s like to get the boat flying on its foils.

“As it accelerates the foil gives more and more lift and then the boat slowly pops itself out of the water, depending on how quickly you’re accelerating.

“When you get to about 20-something knots the boat pops out of the water and then it really starts to accelerate to 40 knots or above.

“It’s a pretty awesome feeling.”
