Inside the America’s Cup – Learning to fly / America’s Cup

NO SECOND PLACE offers a fascinating and dramatic perspective at the world of sailing with a behind-the-scenes look at the teams competing at the 2013 America´s Cup, September 7-21, in San Francisco. This documentary-style production goes inside the teams, boat designs, training regimens, rules, the speed of the sport, strategy and teamwork, among other elements.

In Episode 4, “Learning to Fly”, we examine how the stunning AC72 design can achieve such staggering speed potential, then tie in the expertise it will take to achieve it.

By far the most unique and awe-inspiring feature of this boat is it’s ability to “fly on foils.” We’ll have the team members explain how this works, and bring to life the dramatic effect and feeling it brings while “flying.”
