The Super Boats are on their way to Cocoa Beach! Several teams have announced today that they will be racing in Sunday’s 2013 Thunder On Cocoa Beach Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix. Among those teams that have announced their entry today are two local teams – Perdition Offshore Racing out of Cocoa Beach and Red Hot Racing / JD Byrider out of Satellite Beach.
Perdition Offshore Racing team is made up of Throttle Man Brian Williamson and Driver J.J. Turk, a local Cocoa Beach resident. The 34 foot, 580 HP Phantom boat races in the Manufacturer Production 3 class. During the 2012 race season, Perdition Offshore Racing took 2nd place in their class at the Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix and they took 1st place in the Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival.
The Red Hot Offshore Racing Team includes Satellite Beach residents Driver Mike Figuero and Throttle Man Frank Sarro as well as Crew Chief Trent Weyant. Together, the Red Hot Offshore Racing team has several SBI National Championships and SBI Florida Championships under their belt. The boat is a 30 foot, 550 HP Fountain and races in the Superboat Vee Unlimited class.

All the action starts on Wednesday, May 15th at the VIP Kick-Off Party at Juice N’ Java Cafe in Downtown Cocoa Beach. VIP Pass holders will enjoy complimentary food, beer and wine plus live music from members of Three Dog Night.
