Filmmaker Damon Meade unveils new movie on surfing in New Zealand

Upon viewing this fantastic full-length surf film "Under the Weather," shot entirely in New Zealand by Damon Meade, one can't help but notice more than the good waves, but the incredible landscapes and backgrounds behind them.

The native Maori, who were the first to inhabit the land, called it "Aotearoa," which translates to "land of the long white cloud." And today New Zealand is still one of the most beautiful places on earth, with an incredible variety of climates, from beach to forest to snow-capped peaks, all contained within two relatively small islands, so it isn't any wonder why famed Hollywood director Peter Jackson picked New Zealand as the backdrop for his epic "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, which was filmed in various locations over the course of two years.

This 30-minute masterpiece features surfing by Maz Quinn, Ricardo Christie, Bobby Hansen, Luke Cederman, Billy Stairmand, and more. Enjoy.
