The epilogue to the 7th Vendée Globe - Vendée Globe


A year ago, while François Gabart and Armel Le Cléac’h were enjoying their reception and applause on dry land after completing the round the world voyage in 78 days, Alex Thomson took the remaining place on the victory podium of the seventh Vendée Globe. At sea, Jean-Pierre Dick was sailing on a knife’s edge, while Javier Sanso capsized. Eleven out of the twenty sailors that had lined up at the start of the Everest of the Seas on 10th November made it to the summit.
